In order to be successful with our course for A2, we needed to learn variouse skill in our lip synch tutorial. During the hole process of learning how to do it, i learnt some new technical skills which actually did take time to get around but in the end i was actually successful.
Some of the skills i learnt was putting up the base track in the editing, putting up the different video parts that link to the song, Learning hot to fixate the audio and video so that they both synch was very important, we also learnt to razor some parts of the video so that different video parts linked. All of this took a bit of skill and concentration.
In order to get the lip synching intact we had to look out for a particular word and fixate on that word with a marker, so it was easier to find the mouth movement to that particular word.
At first it was hard for me because i kept missing the word, but with much practice i was able to do it.
The next lesson after that we had to then put everything to practice and do it our selves, we got into our groups and out teacher gave us a song that we had to do which was 'Le freak' by Chic which was 1978 hit disco song which really helped us to get in the mood, a sheet to learn the lyrics so we could actually sing it and a cd player so that it was easier to be in synch with the words. We were told that we should not mime the lyrics but to sing so that it would not look messy in the actual video it self.
The whole video was done hand held so no tripod was used, because of time we only had a chance to record the 1st verse and chorus. We had to take 3 shots of our video baring in mind that there had to be different camera angles.
When it came to editing out Lip synch, to be quite honest we had not encountered and problems as we were able to put the base track and had a specific word we were able to mark.
I think that the Lip synch video is much more challenging and difficult that the thriller video because in the lip synching concentration is much more required as you have to watch out for the words and make sure that you get it exact with that you have to make sure the music is there at the same time, where as in the Thriller trailer it was more laid back all you had to do was basically film what you needed to edit it then add soundtracks which aso requires time.
